Kevin Jonas has just recently proposed to his girlfriend of 2 years, Danielle Deleasa. Kevin designed the amazing one-off engagement ring himself and had the well known jewelry house Jacob & Co make the engagement ring up for him.
The engagement ring details. The platinum engagement ring features a 3 carat cushion cut diamond, with 2 prongs at each of the 4 corners to secure it firmly. The magnificent diamond is sitting above a platinum twin shank that is encrusted with 210 pave set round diamonds.
This engagement ring features many of the latest engagement ring fashions. Namely, a cushion cut diamond, a platinum setting, and pave set diamonds. The double band shank is a stunning feature that really sets this celebrity engagement ring apart from the rest. I predict that we will see many more engagement rings featuring this twin shank band, particularly when they are inlaid with the pave diamonds, as the visual effect is just amazing.
Cushion cut diamonds are becoming increasingly popular as a softer version of a square or emerald cut diamond. Cushion cut diamonds have been in existence since the late 1800′s, and can be found in estate engagement rings as well as in contemporary engagement rings. Apparently, Kevin was so excited and thrilled about the final result of his ring design, he hopped on a plane after a Jonas Brother concert in Vancouver to surprise his girl with an early morning proposal on her front doorstep, in New Jersey.
The happy couple celebrated their engagement with Kevin’s brothers, Nick and Joe, along with 30 other friends at their favorite LA pizza parlour a couple of nights later.
Kevin and Danielle met while holidaying in the Bahamas with their respective families in May 2007. Kevin saw Danielle walking along the beach, and the rest as they say, is now history.
