Plot Outline:
When the planet Cybertron was destroyed by Megatron, the Autobots and Decepticons continue their battle on Earth to get the “All Spark”. The film stars Shia LaBeouf (of the Even Stevens TV series, Constantine) as a teenager named Sam Witwicky who got entangled in the war between the Autobots and Decpticons. Bumblebee, one of the outstanding Autobots disguised as a 1976 Chevrolet Camaro, was purchased by Sam.
- Believe it or not, the tagline “Their war. Our world” was originally meant for another movie, AVP: Alien vs. Predator.
- In the 1984 Transformer movie, Bumblebee’s original alternate mode was a Volkswagen Beetle. But in the 2007 movie, it was altered to a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro (against Don Murphy’s wishes). Michael Bay, the Director felt that the Camaro will project a more friendly quality than the Beetle. He also wanted to avoid comparisons with Herbie the Love Bug.
- As a tribute to the 1984 Transformer series, a yellow Volkswagen Beetle appears next to him at the car shop and as a joke Bumblebee damages it.
- Due to the intense stunts, the camera was kept in a bulletproof glass box while shooting. Shia LaBeouf joked, “The camera’s in a bullet-proof box, but what about me?”
- Jess Harnell is the only voice actor in the film to play both an Autobot (Ironhide) and a Decepticon (Barricade).
- Throughout the film, Bumblebee communicates using his radio, in a manner reminiscent of the Junkions, denizens of the planet Junk, featured in The Transformers: The Movie (1986), who spoke entirely in the form of television broadcasts/commercials.
- Did you know that the word “transformer” was only used once throughout the entire film? That’s when Ron Witwicky said “Looks like they’ve got a blown transformer.”
- During filming, Megan Fox (as Mikaela Banes) put on ten pounds.
- The Decepticon Frenzy was originally named Soundbyte.
- Optimus Prime consist of 10,108 pieces
