Review for Halo 3:

  • Halo 3 is an interesting mix of established protocol and intriguing new stuff. The gameplay isn’t so much different from Halo 2. Don’t take that as a negative, because it means that Halo 3 plays extremely well, with the same types of light tactical considerations that have made the series stand apart from other, faster-paced shooters.
  • The balance between your guns, your grenades, and your melee attack has always given Halo a unique feel in the genre, and those same considerations apply today, both in the campaign mode and in multiplayer. Halo 3 also offers new weapons and items, such as a host of Brute weapons.
  • Halo 3 introduces the concept of “equipment”. These deployable items have a variety of effects. An example is the bubble shield. You can walk through it but bullets an explosions bounce off it. There are also other items that makes your shield regenerate faster, and others that drain enemy shields.
  • Previous Halo games let two players go through the campaign, but Halo 3 lets 4 players go through the campaign and lets you do the whole thing over Xbox Live.
  • The sound in Halo 3 is a good mix of old and new, much like the rest of the game. You’ll hear the familiar Halo theme music and variants thereof. You’ll also hear plenty of great new music, including one suspenseful track with a heartbeat-like sound that manages to get your heart pounding as well.

Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time

November 17, 2007 on 10:11 am | In Games | No Comments

About the Prince Of Persia:

  • The original Prince Of Persia was a great game with fluid animation and an unusual method of combat. Most games at that time used projectile weapons but the protaganist and enemies in the Prince of Persia used swords.
  • Now, Ubisoft brings us the next official installment to the legendary Prince of Persia series with the Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time. Now, players can play as the acrobatic prince and run on walls, swing off poles and much more. Players can also slow, stop and reverse time using the sands of time.

Review of The Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time

  • The story is narrated by the Prince. The odd moments where the Prince decides to chime in and offer his running commentary on the action really help to give you a sense of what he’s thinking as he completes the various sections of the game. It’s a very natural and effective way to get the player into the character’s mind.
  • In the game, you’ll have to fight guards and other creatures that have been tainted by the sands of time. Combat in this game involves a lot of jumping and slashing with either your sword or stabbing with your dagger. The animations are quite nice individually and can be blended together for some visually impressive chains.
  • The combat system does have its drawbacks. The combat in the game can be quite repetitive. The game doesn’t offer many varieties of attacks.
  • The other half of the game involves fairly linear puzzles.Whether you’re climbing up and jumping from pole to pole in an effort to reach a high ledge in the Maharajah’s bedroom or whether you’re running along the walls trying to dodge the spinning blades that slide up and down the wall, the puzzles in Prince of Persia are very intuitive and are solved through action as often as they are through examination.
  • The puzzles in the game are much easier thanks to the dagger of time which can alter the flow of time giving you more time to react to certain hazards. If you fail, you can also use the sands of time to reverse time to the point you made a mistake.

Cheats for Prince Of Persia: The Sands Of Time:

  • 3D Prince Of Persia level (PS2):

Start a new game and stay on the balcony. Hold L3 (left analog stick), then quickly press X, Square, Triangle, Circle, Triangle, X, Square, Circle. You will then enter the first level of the original Prince Of Persia game, redone in 3D. Note: There is no end to the level. Once you get your sword and see a picture of the developers, that is all there is. Do not think that you are stuck; they just did not have time to finish it.

  • How to unlock the original Prince Of Persia

Around 33% of the way into the game, you will receive a new sword. Continue on until you break a wall and the Prince says, ”It’s said they built this palace on the ruins of another…” Once you cross the next room, you will find a rotatable switch. Directly behind this switch is a breakable wall, although it doesn’t appear to be one. If you hit it three times, you will find another room and you will receive a message informing you that Prince of Persia is now unlocked.
You can also rotate that switch until it points to the new room and it will open a gate that allows you to play Prince of Persia right there without having to exit back to the Extra Features screen.
