Jonas Brothers Rocking Out!

Camp Rock, a Disney Channel Original Movie debuted on June 20, 2008. It has a star-studded cast which includes Demi Lovato (Barney & Friends, As The Bell Rings), Alyson Stonner (The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody, Cheaper By The Dozen, Phineas and Ferb), Anna Maria Perez de Tagle (Hannah Montana), Jasmine Richards (Naturally Sadie), Maria Canals Barrera (Wizards Of Waverly Place) and of course, musical stars, the Jonas Brothers.

The movie revolves around Mitchie Torres (Demi Lovato), who aspires to be a singer and as the title suggests, she wants to go to a prestigious rock camp. However, her family could not afford to send her there. So, she has to work in the kitchen alongside her mother (Maria Canals Barrera) in between classes during camp.

Meanwhile, Shane Gray (Joe Jonas), a hot-tempered, ill-mannered and self-centered guy, who is a part of a teen band, Connect Three (which includes his brothers, Nick and Kevin Jonas as Nate Gray and Jason Gray respectively) is persuaded by Nate to go to Camp Rock. Thus, Shane heads for Camp Rock as an instructor.

At the camp, Mitchie meets Caitlyn (Alyson Stonner) and a group of popular girls in camp, consisting of, Peggy (Jasmine Richards), Ella (Anna Maria Perez de Tagle) and leaded by Tess (Meaghan Jette Martin). Tempted to be in the clique, Mitchie invents a glamorous life and tries to hide her poor, unglamorous life.

In the kitchen, Mitchie is overheard singing by Shane. However, she is not seen by Shane. As a result, Shane sets out to find the girl of his dreams…

False alarm, people!

Apparently, it was just a rumor… Joel Madden cleared it up in his band’s blog. He explained that a magazine falsely claimed him and Nicole Richie had a 2 million wedding. In consequence, it created a frenzy among his family…with everyone asking, “Why haven’t I been invited?”

So, to say it once and for all, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie are yet to be married. If you are in their list of important people, I’m sure you’ll be invited… Don’t worry.

Since we’re into the subject, let’s trace back on why we are so interested to see the two of them tie the knot…

First of all, Joel Madden and Nicole Richie got together after Joel broke up with Hilary Duff. Then, in July 2007, they announced that Nicole was pregnant. Thus, on January 11 this year, Nicole gave birth to their first child together, Harlow Winter Kate Madden. Following that, the world of course is waiting for them to be husband and wife.

Miley Cyrus To Sing With John Travolta?

The 15 year old Disney star, Miley Cyrus and John Travolta are the voices behind some characters in the animated movie Bolt. John Travolta’s wife, Kelly Preston says at the recent Women’s network Inspiration Awards that “John may sing with Miley”. Apparently, Preston and Travolta’s 8-year old daughter, Ella is a long-time fan of Hannah Montana (Miley’s alter ego) since they met her two years ago, when Hannah Montana opened for the Cheetah Girls concert.

Apart from that, Miley’s coming out with her new album, Breakout which will definitely be a breakout from her Hannah Montana character. Looking at her huge fan base, her second album, which is produced without any sight of her alter ego might also boom in sale as her debut album, Hannah Montana 2: Meet Miley Cyrus.

Good for Miley! She is set to be back on track since the controversial Vanity Fair photo.

David Cook the Latest American Idol

Two days after the big David versus little David showdown and one day after being crowned the 2008 American Idol, David Cook’s four songs skyrocketed in the iTunes Top 100 songs. On the day of the release of the winning song, “The Time Of My Life”, the song snag the #1 spot while the new song, “Dream Big” in which he sang during the American Idol finale reached the #2 spot. As for the #3 and #4 spot in the iTunes Top 100 songs list, they are claimed by the other two songs which David performed during the finale. They are “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and “The World I Know”. Thus, with the increase in sales of the David Cook songs, the top 5 songs in iTunes were pushed down the list…

Ellen Degeneres and Portia De Rossi to be married

The Supreme Court of California had just overturned the same-sex marriage ban on May 15, 2008. On the next day, Ellen Degeneres tapped her talk show, The Ellen Degeneres Show, in which she announces her engagement to Portia De Rossi.

Ellen is well-known as a stand-up comedian and an actress. However, she is most renowned as the talk show host of The Ellen Degeneres Show. In 1997, she publicly stated that she is a lesbian in the Oprah Winfrey Show. Before being in a relationship with Portia, Ellen dated Anne Heche and subsequently, Alexandra Hedison.

Portia De Rossi on the other hand, is most notable for her roles as Nelle Porter on Ally McBeal and as Lindsay Bluth Funke on Arrested Developement. Portia was married to a documentary filmmaker, Mel Metcalfe. Then, she dated singer, Francesca Gregorini, stepdaughter of Ringo Starr. After the couple broke up in 2004, she started dating Ellen Degeneres.

Ellen Degeneres, 50, and Portia De Rossi, 35, had been a couple since 2004 and they are now seizing the opportunity to get married.
