Marvel: Ultimate Alliance review

  • In Marvel Ultimate Alliance, you get to form and control a four person team of Marvel superheroes, such as Spider-man, Thor, The Human Torch, Captain America and Wolverine. There are 20 characters to choose from including unlockable characters.
  • Each character has their “Ultimates” costumes to start with and you can unlock three alternate costumes that not only affect the hero’s appearance but also comes with a set of bonuses that you can pay to increase.
  • The puzzles in this game is too easy and they’re not really fun. Even where Raven attempts to have clever puzzles, they simplify them too much.
  • when you play online, you can’t bring your leveled up characters in to the game. All 4 players must rely on one person’s saved game.
  • When you’re fighting a big boss battle, like Galactus you’ll have to play a mini game. In the mini game, you’ll control one of the characters, like the Silver Surfer to fly around and shoot Galatus.

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 Review:

  • Tony Hawk is retiring and is looking for the eight best amateur skaters in the world. Your aim is to work your way up and become one of the top 8.
  • Almost everything you do in the game will affect your rank, whether it’s completing goals from random bystanders, finding hidden items or performing tasks for the pro skaters.
  • The character models in this game are quite good and they are animated quite well.
  • A new addition to the game is Nail the Trick mode. When you press down both analog sticks, the game will slow down and zoom in to your feet and board. You will then use the analog sticks to control your feet using them to flip the board.
  • There are no load times in Tony Hawk’s Project 8

About Spider-Man Friend or Foe:

Inspired by the Spider-Man film trilogy and the classic Spider-Man comics, Spider-man Friend or Foe lets players defeat Spider-man’s enemies and make them your allies.

Spider-Man Friend or Foe review:

  • Game Design: The levels in this game is straight forward. Not including bosses, you will fight the same group of enemies. They do change colours and get slightly harder but that doesn’t really help the players from getting bored of playing the same fights over and over again.
  • Graphics: The graphics in this game isn’t really that good and some of the character models look blocky.
  • Gameplay: There are 14 characters to choose from and each of them have basic attacks, grabs and combos. special items can also trigger team attacks that can clear out every enemy on the screen.
  • Difficulty: Although the game is targeted to younger children, the game is still too easy.

About Assassins Creed:
The game is set in 1191 AD. The Third Crusade is tearing the Holy Land apart. You play as Altair, an assassin. You will have the power to throw their immediate environment into chaos and to shape events during this pivotal moment in history.

Review for Assassins Creed:

  • In this game, you play as Altair, a member of the hashshashin (or Assassins), a real group that performed politically-motivated murders between the 11th and 13th centuries.
  • once you have completed the assassination that was assigned, you will gain either new weapons or new combat skills such as a retractable blade on his left arm used for assassinating targets at close quarters without creating any immediate alerts. However, if anybody comes across the body, the alertness level may be raised.
  • There are two ways to assassinate a target. The first way is low profile assassination which is done without attracting attention, while high profile assassination will be noticed by everyone within sight.
  • The visual design has a lot to do with how realistic everything feels. The cities in this game are really huge and almost everything has a shadow.
  • The cities in this game are full of npc’s and you can use these npc’s to blend in to the crowd or as obstacles if you are being chased by guards.

  • The game comes with a microphone for players to sing along in the game
  • In the game, you will have to select your character, song and singing location.
  • Players will have to sing the words that light up and match the pitch and timing bars on the screen. If your pitch and timing is right then the bar will turn light blue. But if you get it wrong, then it will turn into a darker blue.
  • When you finish a song, the game will add all your points and the winner will be the player with the highest score.

About Transformers: The Game

Based on the Paramount Pictures’ live-action film, Transformers: The Game lets players play as the Autobots as they protect the earth or as the Decepticons as they destroy it.

  • DVD-ROM
  • DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
  • DirectX 9.0c compatible video card

Review of Transformers: The Game

  • The worlds in Transformers: The Game are huge, destructible and full of detail. The character models on the other hand, resemble their movie counterpart.
  • The game lets you play through two campaigns. One for the Autobots and one for the Decepticon. In both campaigns, you are trying to get the All Spark before your enemy gets it. The Decepticons will do anything, even going through anything they can to get the All Spark, while the Autobots focus on minimizing damage.
  • The game has major difficulty issues. Most enemies are easy to take out, but because so many missions have time limits, you will find yourself barely failing the mission.
  • Because you are a Transformer, you can transform into vehicles. However, driving is not as much fun as running around as a robot, because driving a car shows very slippery movement.

The Transformers (2007) Movie is based on the Transformer TV series (1984 – 1987). The release of Transformer in 1984, followed by Transformers toys caught the imagination of kids all over the world. Suddenly there was a huge deluge of all types of transformers toys such cars, trucks, aeroplanes, buses and guns that can be transformed into giant robots.

Transformers is a story about the battle between the Autobots and the evil Decepticons. Both are robots from the planet, Cybertron. When their planet was destroyed by Megatron (a Decepticon), they came to Earth and hence continued their battle for the energy source, which is the All Spark. The leader of the Autobots is Optimus Prime., whereas Megatron is the leader of the opposing side, the Decpticons.

Directed by: Michael Bay
Produced by: Steven Spielberg (executive), Tom DeSanto, Don Murphy
Written by: Roberto Orci, Alex Kurtzman, John Rogers
Narrated by: Peter Cullen
Starring: Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, Hugo Weaving (voice)
Music by: Steve Jablonsky
Cinematography: Mitch Amundsen
Editing by: Paul Rubell, Glen Scantlebury
Distributed by: DreamWorks, Paramount Pictures, United International Pictures
Running time: 143 minutes
Budget: $151 million

Plot Outline:

When the planet Cybertron was destroyed by Megatron, the Autobots and Decepticons continue their battle on Earth to get the “All Spark”. The film stars Shia LaBeouf (of the Even Stevens TV series, Constantine) as a teenager named Sam Witwicky who got entangled in the war between the Autobots and Decpticons. Bumblebee, one of the outstanding Autobots disguised as a 1976 Chevrolet Camaro, was purchased by Sam.

transformers_optimus.jpg

Transformers Trivia:

  • Believe it or not, the tagline “Their war. Our world” was originally meant for another movie, AVP: Alien vs. Predator.
  • In the 1984 Transformer movie, Bumblebee’s original alternate mode was a Volkswagen Beetle. But in the 2007 movie, it was altered to a 1977 Chevrolet Camaro (against Don Murphy’s wishes). Michael Bay, the Director felt that the Camaro will project a more friendly quality than the Beetle. He also wanted to avoid comparisons with Herbie the Love Bug.
  • As a tribute to the 1984 Transformer series, a yellow Volkswagen Beetle appears next to him at the car shop and as a joke Bumblebee damages it.
  • Due to the intense stunts, the camera was kept in a bulletproof glass box while shooting. Shia LaBeouf joked, “The camera’s in a bullet-proof box, but what about me?”
  • Jess Harnell is the only voice actor in the film to play both an Autobot (Ironhide) and a Decepticon (Barricade).
  • Throughout the film, Bumblebee communicates using his radio, in a manner reminiscent of the Junkions, denizens of the planet Junk, featured in The Transformers: The Movie (1986), who spoke entirely in the form of television broadcasts/commercials.
  • Did you know that the word “transformer” was only used once throughout the entire film? That’s when Ron Witwicky said “Looks like they’ve got a blown transformer.”
  • During filming, Megan Fox (as Mikaela Banes) put on ten pounds.
  • The Decepticon Frenzy was originally named Soundbyte.
  • Optimus Prime consist of 10,108 pieces

venom.jpgVenom from Spider-man 3 master_chief2.jpgMaster Chief from the Halo games
ultimate_venom.jpg
Ultimate Venom in the Ultimate Spider-man comics

This is about what I think will happen if Venom aka Eddie Brock Jr. from Spider-man and the Master Chief from the Halo series faced off.

Venom’s powers and abilities:

  • superhuman strength
  • agility and reflexes
  • ability to stick to walls
  • ability to shoot webbing
  • highly resistant to physical attack and
  • capable of withstanding attacks from high-caliber weapons.
  • capable of surviving in harmful areas such as underwater and in toxic gases for long periods of time

undueballistictrauma.gif

The Master Chief’s abilities and weapons:

  • various weapon skills
  • armor
  • shields to regenerate

Who will win the fight?

I think venom might win because he’ll be able to survive even if the master chief shoots him. But, the master chief could just throw a bomb at venom. That’s how venom was killed in spider-man 3. But venom should be able to dodge it because of his agility and reflexes. Please comment and tell me who do you think will win the fight.

About Kingdom Hearts II:

Kingdom Hearts II is a collaboration between Square Enix And Disney Interactive. So, don’t be surprised to see many familiar Disney characters as well, in this game. The player is Sora who joins Mickey Mouse, Donald, Goofy and gang to journey through several popular Disney-inspired worlds to resolves the troubles caused by Organization XIII, the Heartless, Maleficent and Pete, and local villains

ESRB Content Descriptors: Mild Blood, Use of alcohol, Violence
Platform: PlayStation 2
Features: Stereo Surround, Dolby Pro Logic II, Memory Card, DualShock Support, Vibration

Review for Kingdom Hearts II:

  • The formula in Kingdom Hearts II is quite similiar to Kingdom Heart I, but much of the gameplay has changed.
  • In this game, you play as Sora, a young boy that wields the keyblade. The keyblade is a weapon that is both useful as a key to unlock other worlds and as a method for destroying the heartless, a species of monster that is taking over the Disney lands.
  • Kingdom Hearts II gives you a certain amount of freedom, both in determining your characters attributes and in resigning yourself to standard combat.
  • Most of the Disney worlds take you through the story of the movie, so the dialogue is often taken directly from the source material.
  • As you play through the game, you’ll also be able to discover summon entities. Since the summons from the previous game (Mushu and Simba) now have their own levels, you’ll be working with new summons for this game.
  • one of the new features of the game is a meter known as the Drive Gauge. The Drive Gauge has two functions, to transform into a “Drive Form” or to summon a special character.

kingdom_hearts_2_1.JPG

My Rating for Kingdom Hearts II: 8.7 out of 10

Kingdom Hearts II Cheats:

  • Unlockable: Summon Stitch

Once you have the Master Form, you’ll find it in the hallway to the computer room in Hollow Bastion.

  • Unlockable: Summon Peter Pan

After the second visit to Port Royal, you’ll find it in the ship graveyard.

  • Unlockable: Summon Chicken Little

In the 100 Acre Woods, you can pick it up after the world’s second cutscene.

  • Instant Max Drive Glitch

If you want your drive bar maxed, all you have to do is, go to the Underworld tournament. Talk to Panic, after talking to him, a screen of all the Tournaments pop up. Choose any one, and once you enter the first battle, your Drive Bar will be completely filled. Pause, and select quit. When you leave, your bar is still full.

This will help you level up forms and summons quicker.

Also, if you return to the world map while in a drive form you will have a full drive gauge.
